Here We Go! PHS DECA’s 2019/2020 Moves.
Since last year, Pickering High School’s DECA team has made strides to increase its community outreach and member engagement. With over 70 members, they are as ready as ever to tackle challenges within the community.
Before the school year even begins, DECA executives were hard at work planning for the upcoming year. Thanks to Savan and Amy, a new website for their club was built from scratch! To stay up to date with club activities and general information, check it out at phsdeca.com.
As a tradition, the team set out in September for their annual roadside cleanup. Pickering High School DECA has adopted Church Street and makes it their duty to ensure that the public space is clean and suitable for surrounding residents. This year, 23 bags of waste were collected, all the way from Kingston to Delaney.
Pickering DECA has also been participating in Pickering High’s Block Parties. They will be selling their highly coveted “cookie-brownies” for $2 every Food Day. All the proceeds go towards supporting the team in their outreach and activities. Hurry to get them, because they run out fast!
The leadership team has even more up their sleeves with the upcoming Global Entrepreneurship Week! A whole week of activities including a LinkedIn tutorial session, a personal branding seminar, and local entrepreneurial cases.
As the team gets ready for Regionals on the 23rd, there are many activities and events to help them destress and develop their professional skills! If you are interested, be sure to get in touch with PHS DECA at firstname.lastname@example.org or their Instagram and Twitter.
